Closed-Form Solution for Circular Membranes under In-Plane Radial Stretching or Compressing and Out-of-Plane Gas Pressure Loading

چکیده

The large deflection phenomenon of an initially flat circular membrane under out-of-plane gas pressure loading is usually involved in many technical applications, such as the blister or bulge tests, where a uniform in-plane stress often present before deflection. However, there still lack effective closed-form solution for problem with initial stress. In this study, formulated and solved analytically. first modelled by stretching compressing flat, stress-free radially plane which located, based on this, boundary conditions, radial can be solved, are determined. Therefore, presented paper applied to case may, may not, have deflection, either tensile compressive. numerical example conducted shows that has satisfactory convergence.
